the wild, wild west

Jackson Hole, WY is a favorite winter spot for us and this year's trip did not disappoint! With niece Elizabeth along to help out with the kids (and because we love her company), we all had a great time.

This was Max and Whitney's second year of skiing and they couldn't get enough.  Max took his first lessons and Whitney skied her first mountain "blue run"!

Whitney trying her hand in the terrain park.

view from the tram...

This is what happens at dinner when a 3 year old skis for 7 hours followed by an hour of swimming.  Take note that an ice cream sundae wasn't even enough to get Max up!

Whitney's nearly perfected swan dive/belly flop...

Nothing like a scenic mountain drive to help you appreciate some of God's finest creations.

Max and Daddy catching some air!

In addition to the mountains, wildlife is abundant in WY.

This picture was taken on a camera phone (by Whitney) without zoom.  It's hard to tell but the moose was less than 15 feet away!

The world's best (and coziest) waffle house at 10,500 feet.

Mommy and Anders had to sit this year out of skiing, but had a lot of fun off the slopes.

Anders checking out which slopes he'll try next year...
