celebrations in cumberland

This past weekend we were at Grandma and Grandpa Carlson's cabin in Cumberland to celebrate Cousins Drew and Dylan's birthdays and the beloved Rutabaga Festival.  The boys had a construction themed party which all of the kids loved!

the kids' first pinata!

happy 2nd birthday to dylan (today)!

it's hard to believe drew will be 5 in october

more weekend fun...

both whitney & max (not pictured) enjoyed the wave-runner

Last but certainly not least, James is officially the 4th fastest person in Cumberland, WI!  He finished the 5K in under 20 minutes (CORRECTION - 20:18); not too shabby for a middle-aged man!  Unfortunately there is not photo.  Other notable finishes include Aunt Pam and Grandpa :)

enjoying every inch of our yard!

Outdoor space is truly a luxury in the city (and the driving force behind building our home last year), and we're not taking it for granted!

A big thanks to Grandpa Carlson for building the sandbox!

fun with friends...

anders on the loose!

what's not to love about this greeting in the morning?!

sparkly smiles!

Whitney's first visit to the dentist couldn't have gone any better.  She was very brave (with "baby mama" at her side) and can't wait to go back!

"up north"

We recently enjoyed a week up in Eagle River complete with family, fishing, tennis, swimming, and much more.  Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate (highs of 55 in late July???), but that didn't seem to bother the kids.
