max on the move, well kind of

While Max isn't crawling yet, he sure is trying. He gets in this position that resembles the yoga "downward dog", but then he can't figure out what to do next. As of now, rolling and spinning around on his tummy seem to be his best bet for getting around.

The other thing Max is spending a lot of time on is figuring out how to pull himself up. He hasn't mastered it yet, but he is able to occasionally get himself up next to a table unassisted.

O' Canada!

Once again we packed our bags and hit the road, or rather the air. This time our destination was Mont Tremblant in Quebec, Canada. Knowing that both Mommy and Daddy would want to hit the slopes at the same time, we enlisted cousin/godmother/goddaughter/niece Elizabeth to lend a helping hand and join in on the fun. And what fun we had! Despite the cold temperatures and the fact our kids are the world's worst fliers, we had a blast!

don't let these smiles fool you, there was lots of crying/whining going on 30,000 feet in the air... just ask the poor folks stuck on the flight with us!

we don't exactly travel light

bumming around the village

slick mode of transportation for the kiddos

Did we mention it was cold? This is the snow report from one of the warmer days... you might notice the high was 0 degrees with a low of -13 degrees farenheit, not factoring in the ridiculous windchill.

Despite the way it looks, we must not have been covered up enough because we both had some frostbite within 5 minutes of skiing! But it was worth it for scenery like this.

giving ourselves a reprieve from the harsh elements, we went to an indoor waterpark

back outside we took the kids tubing

the kids first gondola ride

hot cocoa and chocolate croissant break

last but not least, lots of fun was had back in the condo

happy new year!

We decided to ring in the new year in the great northwoods of Eagle River, Wisconsin. Joined by Uncle Kevin, Aunt Katie, and cousins Elizabeth, Erin, Meghan & Ryan, we all took advantage of the ample snowfall.

whitney and daddy giving max a push down the big hill

it was hard to tell what max thought of sledding since he was completely expressionless. then again it's possible his face was frozen in that position.

whitney still loving to sled

whitney mad that mommy was making her help out with the shoveling

daddy took whitney on a little spin on the snowmobile which she couldn't get enough of. looks like next time we'll have to get her a helmet and take her on the trails.

back inside...

we had such a great time we decided to extend our trip by a day and take the kiddos to our favorite restaurant. this was max's first time in a restaurant high chair which he thought was pretty exciting.
