afternoon playtime

swinging with her baby doll

Whitney has been rolling for a few weeks, but just recently she appears to have mastered it. Rolling is her new form of "transportation". If she wants to get somewhere, she'll just roll on over!

Sometimes she'll even pull herself up and over using the animals on her playmat.

Tuckered out after all that activity

the first supper

"is it time?! do i finally get some real food?"

"are you guys sure about this?"

"that doesn't look like the stuff you eat"

"i'm starting to have some second thoughts about this"

"this stuff is NOT good"

"actually, this stuff is horrible"

"please, no more"

"can i REALLY go back to having a bottle?... thanks!"

5 months old!

It's hard to imagine, but Whitney turns 5 months old tomorrow. She has brought nothing but joy into our lives. Granted she still has a couple kinks to work out in the sleep department, we can't complain too much. Anything she lacks for in sleeping, she makes up with her endless smiles and giggles.

Who needs toys when you have toes?!

Whitney loves looking in the mirror at her "special friend". She can't get enough of her.

the great outdoors

Whitney just enjoyed back-to-back weekends in Eagle River, WI. Over Labor Day, she went with Daddy (while Mommy was home sick with flu) and lots of other Kelly family members. This past weekend we were up there with some friends and Whitney had her friend Mona up there. Mona is 4 months older than Whitney, but they get along very well and seem genuinely intrigued by the other.

Whitney had fun hiking, but was more interested in her Daddy than the beautiful scenery.

Here Whitney is modeling an adorable hat and booties which were loaned to her by Cousin Claire. Originally they were gifts to Claire from James when he was in Ireland many years ago.

summer stylin'

big changes ahead...

After over 13 years with the same company (albeit different names - Salomon Smith Barney, Smith Barney, Citi Smith Barney, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney)... I decided to accept a new position. This was a difficult decision given my fondness for my job and the people I work with. However, in the end the new position offered something that couldn't be matched or topped in my book... a chance to spend all my days with Whitney! That's right, as of September 21st, I'll be a full-time stay-at-home mom. I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to begin!

Whitney seemed pleased with the news too.
