6 weeks old...

...and smiling!

Max has changed a lot in the past 6 weeks. Most noticeably his hair is lightening and face is filling out. He still tends to resemble Daddy more so than Mommy, and doesn't look even remotely like his big sister! Much to our delight the smiles have begun and Max is trying with all of his might to communicate with us. Whitney continues to be enamored with him and is a very loving big sister.

Whitney's immediate reaction to Max crying is concern, followed quickly by finding a way to cheer him up. Often times this involves giving him his pacifier, which thankfully she has improved upon her aim.

father's day weekend

I can truly say that Whitney and Max have one of the best dads in the biz. No matter what kind of day he's had or what else is going on, he showers them with love and attention. He may talk a tough game at times, but it turns out that he's a bit of a softy!

The busy weekend included a visit with good friends Seamus and Amanda. As you can tell from the photos, both kids are quite smitten with the couple.

Last but not least, a special congratulations to Whitney's fairy Godmother Elizabeth. Her varsity soccer team played in the state championship game over the weekend. Unfortunately the game resulted in a heartbreaking 0-1 loss, but Elizabeth handled it with class and grace. Whitney is fortunate to have her as a role model.

whitney's new favorite pastime

One of the perks of living in the city is that we have lots of wonderful parks within walking distance of our home. What's even better is that during the summer our favorite park turns on the big water feature! Whitney tested it out over the weekend (both days) and absolutely loved it. We thought she may want to splash around in the fringes like most of the other kids, but no, not our Whitney. She ran right into the thick of it and kept running and running and running!
