9 months old!

It's hard for us to believe, but Whitney turned 9 months old this week. She had a great appointment with the pediatrician and seems to be thriving. Whitney weighed in at 19lbs (25-50th percentile), measured 28" tall (50-75th percentile), and still has an off the charts brain size!

This is how she greets us most mornings... what's not to love about that!

Whitney likes to keep an eye on things outside.

Whitney starting cutting the top 4 teeth after a few months of being stuck with just the bottom two.

Now that Whitney's older, she's stepped it up in the chores department. She regularly helps load the dishwasher and fold laundry.

When she's not doing chores, Whitney's favorite past-times include pulling herself up on everything, crawling, playing, smiling, reading books, and getting herself stuck in tight spaces.

my oh my, which hat to wear...

Thank you Jess, for my stylish new lids!

the wild west

The three of us just returned from a spectacular 5 day trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Mommy and Whitney discovered that you don't even need to ski to have a great time there! Whitney took full advantage of the hotel pool, while Mommy enjoyed the spa, and Daddy hit the slopes. We took Whitney on her first snowshoeing trek through Grand Teton National Park, which she couldn't get enough of. Wildlife and great mountain scenery made the drives extra special. Whitney was nearly perfect the entire trip (including the plane ride out there), but decided to meltdown on the flight home. I guess she didn't want the trip to end either.

play time!

Whitney has been a busy girl the past couple weeks playing with all of her new Christmas gifts. Whitney is closing in on the 9 month mark and has some new tricks in her bag too. In the past few weeks she has mastered clapping, pulling herself up, closing doors, giving kisses, and standing while holding onto something.

In this last picture Mommy was just finishing up the photo shoot when Whitney decided to get off her chair and stand on her own without holding onto anything. This was a first for her and she stood for a good 5 seconds!
