well-checks

The kids recently visited the pediatrician for their 15 month and 2 month well-checks. Thankfully both kids are very healthy and doing well. Whitney weighed in at 23lbs 10oz (50th percentile), and is 31 3/4 inches long (75th percentile).

Max's "2 month" appointment was actually when he was more like 2 1/2 months. Even so he measured quite long at 25 inches (95th percentile) and weighed in at a svelte 12lbs 8oz (50th percentile).

I'm reposting a picture of Whitney and Drew from the 4th of July weekend. If any of you are wondering how to get your hands on one of these fancy rafts, it may be tough. This is a 1982 vintage model that Brian and I used to take out on Lake Minnetonka. Leah was kind enough to point out that Brian and I were rocking the same trendy haircut back then too! Is it me or does the raft look to be in better shape now?

2 months old!

Max will be 2 months old tomorrow and is still delighting us with his smiles and "talking". Thankfully he has developed a fairly tough skin when it comes to playing with his big sister. There haven't been any injuries (yet), but Max has been sat on more than once and had pacifiers lovingly misplaced in his eye sockets.

Whitney is now 14 months old. Currently her favorite past-times include building towers, moving furniture, lifting anything, helping take care of Max, and making silly faces.

Nothing is sweeter than seeing the two play together.

4th of july weekend

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Cumberland, WI at the Carlson cabin. The weather could not have been more perfect for swimming, boating, picnicing, and general summertime fun. A good time was had by all.

Whitney enjoyed taking the raft out but quickly realized that if she picked up Cousin Drew, then she wouldn't have to paddle!

Last but not least, Whitney and Max pose with Aunt Pam in their "I'm going to be a big cousin" t-shirts. It's hard to tell from the photo but Pam is expecting in late August, making this Whitney and Max's 12th cousin!
